Yes, you're reading right. I put the Biesemeyer fence in bold because although having previously used the Bies for five years, and then using the Unifence for five years, Norm is back to using the Bies. It's probably a corporate no-brainer; Delta makes both of them.
Norm used a plain board clamped to the Biesemeyer as a sacrificial fence. By the way, the reason stated on the NYW website for changing back to the Bies was “…it's easier to attach things to.” The long Biesemeyer auxiliary fence is coming soon.
The safety speech included video of an operation on the router table (finger slip).
