Some tools have names in addition to model numbers, and this ¼ sheet sander is frequently called a Speed-Bloc. I'm not sure whether Norm's is an old Rockwell or a new Porter-Cable, or perhaps both, depending on when a newer one might have appeared. The Rockwell is the same sander and had the same name. Now try and follow this; when Rockwell bought Delta, Porter-Cable was part of the stable, and Rockwell discontinued the name (in the '50s). Rockwell was then bought by Pentair some years later and the Delta name was revived, as was Porter-Cable's, thus several Rockwell model numbers and product names have been carried over into the P-C line. | |

Yes, hard as it may be to believe, there was a seven year gap in which the Speed-Bloc was not seen. Nice to have it back, however infrequently. |
