Hybrid saws have become quite popular in the last decade. I believe DeWalt was the first to offer one. As one would suspect, they are a cross between the contractor saw and the cabinet saw—enclosing the motor and improving dust collection, while retaining the lighter weight trunnion which hangs from the table (a la contractors saws) as opposed to setting in the cabinet (a la cabinet saws). Price points, as one might imagine, lie in between.
Differences in last digit are variances in fence options (this one was probably a -716).
